Custom Wedding Dress Pricing
What Does A Custom Wedding Dress Cost?
Every custom wedding dress is different — and so is its price.
At Envious Bridal & Formal, your gown is individually quoted based on the dress you would like us to create, including its design, fabrics, construction and level of detailing.
Rather than placing our custom gowns into fixed price packages, we review your individual design and provide you with a personalised quotation before you decide whether you would like to proceed.

Why Does the Price of a Custom Wedding Dress Vary?
A simple satin gown and an intricately embellished lace gown may both be custom made, but the materials, construction and amount of work required to create them can be very different.
Your quotation is therefore based on what is actually required to create your dress.

What Does Your Custom Wedding Dress Quote Include?
When comparing custom wedding dress prices, it is important to understand what you are actually being quoted for.
Your personalised quotation covers the creation of the custom gown based on the design and specifications agreed upon with you.
Depending on your particular gown, this may include:
- development and refinement of your custom design
- selected bridal fabrics and materials
- lace, appliqués or embellishments included in the confirmed design
- construction of your gown
- custom sizing based on your measurements
- communication and updates throughout the custom process
- completion and delivery of your finished gown to our Subiaco bridal studio
Your quotation will outline the gown we are creating for you so that you can review the price before committing to your custom order.
IMPORTANT
Bridal alterations required after your completed gown arrives are separate from the custom gown price and can be arranged with our bridal alterations partner.
Your Design Determines Your Price
THE DESIGN CHANGES. SO DOES THE PRICE.
Two gowns can have a similar silhouette but require different materials and construction.
This is why we prefer to see your inspiration first and quote the gown you actually want, rather than provide a broad range that may have little relevance to your design.
Your Design Determines Your Price
Have a Budget in Mind? Tell Us.
Yes — and we encourage you to tell us your budget when you submit your ideas.
Knowing what you are comfortable spending helps us assess whether the gown you have envisioned is realistic within that budget.
If certain elements are likely to significantly increase the price, there may sometimes be alternative fabrics, details or design approaches that can achieve a similar overall aesthetic while keeping the design closer to your budget.
We won't compromise the integrity of a gown simply to meet a price, but where practical alternatives exist, we can discuss them with you.
What If I Love A Designer Wedding Dress?
Perhaps you've fallen in love with the overall aesthetic of a designer gown but would like to change the neckline, silhouette, sleeves, fabric or other details.
You are welcome to send us those images as inspiration.
We can look at the elements you love and explore how those ideas could influence an individual custom design created for you.
Our custom service is about using inspiration to understand your preferences — not producing replicas of another designer's gown.
Custom VS Off-The-Rack: Think About The Final Cost
The ticket price of an off-the-rack or made-to-order wedding dress doesn't always represent the final amount you will spend.
If you purchase an existing gown but then want to change its neckline, add sleeves, alter the bodice, change the back or make other substantial modifications, those changes may involve additional alteration or customisation costs — where they are technically possible at all.
With custom, the features you have agreed upon are considered as part of the gown from the beginning.
That doesn't mean custom will always cost less than buying an existing wedding dress.
It means the better comparison is often:
the cost of creating the gown you actually want
versus
buying a gown that is close — and then trying to change it.

How Do I Get An Exact Price?
Show Us What You Have in Mind.
You don't need a professional wedding dress sketch or a completely finished design.
Send us:
Your Inspiration: Wedding dress photos, Instagram saves, Pinterest images or individual details you love.
Your Ideas: Tell us what you would like to keep, change, combine or create differently.
Your Wedding Details: Let us know your wedding date, venue, wedding theme (if you have one) and dress budget.
We'll review your ideas and provide a personalised quotation based on the custom wedding dress you would like us to create.
There is no obligation to proceed simply because you have requested a quotation.
Your dream dress doesn't need a price tag until we know what your dream dress actually is.
Perth brides can continue their custom journey with us at our Subiaco bridal studio once they are ready to move forward.
Common Custom Wedding Dress Pricing Questions
How much does a custom wedding dress cost?
Our custom wedding dresses start from $2,500, with the final price depending on your individual design, fabrics, construction and level of detailing. Once we review your inspiration and ideas, we can provide you with a personalised quotation.
Are alterations included in my custom wedding dress price?
Alterations required after your completed gown arrives are separate from your custom gown price. For Perth brides, alterations can be arranged with our bridal alterations partner following your gown fitting.
Will adding lace or beading make my dress more expensive?
Potentially. The cost depends on the type and quantity of lace or embellishment required, as well as the work involved in incorporating it into your design. These details are considered when preparing your personalised quotation.
Can you design a custom wedding dress around my budget?
We encourage you to tell us your intended dress budget when requesting a quotation. This allows us to assess whether your ideas are realistic within that budget and, where appropriate, discuss alternative design or fabric options.
Can I change my design after receiving my quote?
Your quotation is based on the design submitted to us. If you decide to substantially change the design, fabrics or detailing, the price may also need to be revised.
