Our Custom Made Process
Custom Made Wedding Dresses
When it comes to finding a perfect wedding dress, there are so many options but from the brides we’ve met over our years in business they often feel frustrated with not being able find what they want.
You dream of a perfect wedding dress. Is it time to make that happen?
Envious Bridal & Formal is committed to making the custom made process easy, fuss-free and stress free for you. We'll bring your vision into reality with a beautiful wedding dress in this streamlined system so we can all enjoy perfection together.
Below is a general idea of how we work and the process of getting your wedding gown custom made.
1. INITIAL IDEAS, DISCUSSION & CONSULTATION
WHEN: 6-8 months before
The process starts with a discussion of your favorite styles, tried and loved. We also encourage you to share inspiration photos you have saved from social media, Pinterest or any other source. This provides us an excellent foundation for understanding your personality, your style and what you have in mind.
Your perfect wedding dress awaits.
We'll work with you to create a design tailored specifically for your body and personality, combining everything from fabric choices to map out silhouettes that will suit all of those curves in perfectly flattering ways.
We will provide you with an estimate price based on what we discussed during our initial consultation which is usually through email or phone consults.
If you are interested in proceeding, we will schedule a time for you to come into our store to get to know each other better, take measurements, outline a timeline, go over our custom made policies as well as answer any questions you may have.
It is important for you to know what to expect from your experience with us because it's not just about your wedding dress but also creating memories worth remembering forever.
2. DESIGN CONSULTATION
The design consultation is all about you and we make this whole process about you.
Your inspiration pictures and personal requests, together we can brainstorm the possibilities to bring your perfect custom wedding dress into existence!
We want to make sure you get the dress of your dreams. An optional service* we offer is having your custom dress vision and ideas combined and sketched out by our professional designer for you to preview. This is the first step towards moving forward to bringing your custom vision to life.
The design process is incredibly exciting. As you see your dress ideas come to life, it's like being given a glimpse into the future as to what will be worn on your wedding day.
(* Design sketch attracts a one off fee and subject to designer availability.)
3. CONFIRM DESIGN & ORDER
We understand that you want your custom dress to be perfect, which is why we will accommodate any necessary design revisions as per your request until you are happy to sign off on the design.
If your dress entails a specific style of lace, we will find the perfect design for you and offer photo samples so that can view all options.
Once you approve of all the details we will finalize your order with a 50% deposit of your custom dress's price, sign off on the sales contract and get started by scheduling in with our dressmakers to truly bring what’s on paper to life.
You deserve nothing less than perfection from day one.
4. IN PRODUCTION
WHEN: 6 months before
This stage is where we collate all your ideas, make the patterns, cutting and the tailoring of your dress to bring it altogether to transform your custom dress to life!
5. FIRST FITTING
WHEN: 2 months before
The moment you've been waiting for! Your custom-made gown is ready and it's time to try on your beautiful dress in store at your first fitting.
Alterations are expected and almost always necessary to ensure the absolute perfect fit to your body. We can provide in house alteration service or recommend another tailor to do alterations for your wedding dress.
The fitting process may be done in two or three fittings, depending on what needs to be done.
6. GOWN COLLECTION
WHEN: 2-3 weeks before
Your balance is due to be paid in full, and once that happens your wedding dress will be ready for you for you to be collected. Happily ever after.
