After visiting four bridal boutiques in Perth and even travelling interstate to explore more options, she still hadn't found a dress that brought together everything she loved.

She knew the style she wanted, but each gown she tried on seemed to be missing something. Eventually, she told her mum and friends that she wished she could simply design her own dress.
Her mum suggested having a wedding dress custom-made.

Lace was always going to be an important feature of Tiana's wedding dress.
"I've always loved lace!" — Tiana
Rather than heavy embellishments, beading or sparkle, she preferred the delicate texture and understated beauty of Chantilly lace.
For her bodice, we designed a strapless, semi-sheer corset featuring exposed boning and a distinctive basque waistline.
The corset structure provided definition through the bodice, while the pointed basque waist created a graceful transition into the skirt. The delicate floral lace softened the structured design, bringing together romantic and contemporary elements.
A Full A-Line Skirt with a Modern Twist
For the skirt, Tiana knew she wanted an A-line silhouette.
"The A-line bottom with a split came to me as I was trying on dresses—it felt the most flattering and comfortable." — Tiana
We paired the fitted corset with a voluminous A-line skirt, incorporating a thigh-high split for a modern, confident finish.
A sweeping train completed the design, creating the romantic bridal silhouette Tiana had always imagined.
The combination of the lace corset, basque waistline and flowing skirt gave the gown its distinctive character: feminine and romantic, with just the right amount of modern sophistication.
Choosing the Fabrics: Chantilly Lace and Glass Organza
Fabric selection was another important part of bringing Tiana's design together.
After exploring different lace options, she selected a delicate floral Chantilly lace for the bodice. Its fine texture and intricate pattern provided the romantic detail she loved without the need for additional embellishments.
For the skirt, we chose glass organza.
This lightweight fabric offered the volume and structure needed to create the full A-line silhouette while retaining a beautiful sense of movement.
It was also a thoughtful choice for Tiana's destination wedding in Greece, where comfort and ease of movement were important considerations alongside the overall design.
Together, the Chantilly lace and glass organza created a lovely balance of softness, structure and volume.
Bringing Tiana's Wedding Dress to Life
Once the design and fabrics were finalised, Tiana's wedding dress moved into production.
This is one of the most exciting stages of the custom wedding dress process, as the ideas discussed during the design consultations begin taking shape.
The delicate lace bodice required careful attention to its construction, from the placement of the floral lace to the exposed corset boning and basque waistline.
The glass organza skirt was then constructed to achieve the volume, shape and movement Tiana wanted, while incorporating her chosen leg split and train.
Throughout production, Tiana received updates on her gown's progress, allowing her to see the design gradually come together.
Seeing the Finished Gown
When the production photographs arrived, Tiana could finally see her vision taking shape.
The romantic lace corset, distinctive basque waistline and flowing organza skirt had come together just as she had imagined.
What began as a collection of inspiration photographs and individual design ideas was now a wedding dress created especially for her.
The First Wedding Dress Fitting
For many brides, the first fitting is one of the most anticipated moments of the custom-made journey.
For Tiana, it was the opportunity to finally try on the gown she had spent months imagining.
Seeing the dress in person allowed her to appreciate the delicate lace, the structure of the corset and the way the glass organza skirt moved as she walked.
It was also an important part of the fitting process.
