When the designer wedding gown she loved was beyond her budget, Chaznay discovered another way to bring her bridal vision to life—with a custom-made wedding dress created in Perth.
Finding your dream wedding dress isn't always as simple as walking into a bridal boutique and choosing a gown from the collection.
For Perth bride Chaznay, the search began with visits to several local bridal stores. Although she tried on different styles, none quite captured the look she had been imagining for her wedding day.

The Designer Wedding Dress That Inspired Chaznay
Chaznay's original inspiration was the June gown by Rime Arodaky, a romantic design featuring intricate three-dimensional floral detailing.
The original gown combined several distinctive elements, including a fitted crepe skirt, a low back and a removable floral overskirt.
What appealed to Chaznay was the combination of a fitted silhouette and delicate floral embellishments, together with the versatility of a detachable skirt.
Rather than reproducing the original gown exactly, the design became a reference point for discussing the features, fabrics and finishing details she wanted in her own wedding dress.

Choosing the Floral Lace for Her Custom Gown
One of the defining features of Chaznay's wedding dress was its three-dimensional floral detailing.
To explore the look she wanted, we presented her with several 3D floral lace appliqué options. Each offered a different interpretation of the soft, romantic embellishments she had admired in her inspiration gown.
Chaznay selected the floral appliqué that best suited her vision.
The chosen lace would become an important feature of her custom dress, bringing texture and detail to the bodice and detachable overskirt.

From Inspiration to Production
With the design direction and floral lace selected, work began on Chaznay's custom wedding dress.
Her gown combined a fitted bridal silhouette with delicate floral detailing and a removable overskirt, allowing her to enjoy two different looks.
The design featured:
- Cap sleeves and a semi-sheer bodice
- 3D floral lace appliqués
- A fitted mermaid-style crepe skirt
- A low, open back
- An invisible back zipper with fabric-covered buttons
- A detachable tulle overskirt finished with matching floral appliqués
Each detail contributed to the overall design, balancing the romantic floral elements with the clean lines of the fitted gown underneath.
The Finished Wedding Dress: Two Looks in One
One of the most appealing features of Chaznay's gown was its versatility.
Without the detachable overskirt, the dress revealed a more fitted silhouette, allowing the crepe skirt and floral bodice to take centre stage.
With the tulle overskirt added, the gown took on a softer, more romantic appearance. The additional fabric and floral embellishments created a fuller bridal look while retaining the fitted gown underneath.
For Chaznay, this combination meant she didn't have to choose between the two styles she loved. Both could be incorporated into her wedding dress.
Chaznay's First Bridal Fitting
After the gown was completed, Chaznay returned to Envious Bridal for her first fitting.
This was the moment she could finally see the design she had imagined become a real wedding dress.
The gown was already fitting closely to her measurements, with only a few adjustments identified around the shoulders and hemline to refine the final fit.
Her reaction said it all: "I don't want to take this dress off. I love it!"
The fitting also allowed the remaining adjustments to be assessed in person, including the gown's length and how the fabric sat when worn.
As with custom bridal gowns generally, final fitting adjustments are assessed separately from the initial custom sizing and may require alterations.
Chaznay's Wedding Day
From the first inspiration image to her final fitting, Chaznay's wedding dress had been shaped around the details that mattered most to her.
On her wedding day, she wore the finished gown she had envisioned—a fitted design with delicate floral lace and the option of a romantic detachable overskirt.
Seeing the finished dress worn by the bride is always a special part of the custom-made journey, particularly when the original design began as something she wasn't sure she could achieve within her budget.
