We use different types in our own bridesmaids' dresses and formal collection as well as custom made garments and have compiled the most popular fabrics to help you through the selection process.
Fabrics can be confusing with all the types out there. Not too worry, we are here to break it down to make it easier for you to understand the different types that we use frequently within our own bridesmaid and formal collection as well as for custom made dresses.
1. CHIFFON

Characteristics of chiffon
- Lightweight

Chiffon is a lightweight and soft fabric that flows beautifully, making it perfect for flowing dresses. It has the ability to drape and layer well, making chiffon perfect for styles such as empire waist dresses. Chiffon can be a bit sheer, so very often it is draped in multiple layers.
Chiffon is a beautiful fabric that looks great in all colour palettes, especially soft or pastel colours as there is no sheen to the fabric which enables the colour to come through nicely.
This fabric is ideal for warmer season weddings as the soft and light fabric allows your girls to be kept cool in outdoor wedding settings.
2. SILK CREPE

Our silk crepe material with a luscious feel, fluid drape and smooth texture. It is lightweight - it feels luxurious to the touch with a glossy luster.
Our silk crepe dresses are always made with double layer so there is zero transparency and have the ultimate silky feel. This fabric is suitable for flowy style gowns as well as semi fitted dresses, giving you endless options for designs.
This fabric is the perfect choice for warmer weather weddings owing to the ease of wear, smooth texture and flowy drape.

3. SILK CREPE

Our silk crepe material with a luscious feel, fluid drape and smooth texture. It is lightweight - it feels luxurious to the touch with a matte finish.
Soft, silky and a good drape this matte silk crepe has a smooth feel to the touch with an appealing matte finish that looks incredibly elegant.

4. SILK GEORGETTE

The silk georgette is soft, lightweight and has a fine, smooth texture with elegant drape abilities which is ideal for flowy style dresses.
This fabric is suitable for both warmer and cooler month weddings as it works well in the warmer weather with it's light and flowy but also serves as a good insulator in the slightly cooler months.

5. POLY SPANDEX
Our poly spandex colour chart
Our polyester spandex material is a mid weight fabric that has a semi textural feel whilst offering impressive comfort and ease of wear. It offers a flattering look even with fitted dress styles. There is enough stretch that allow freedom of movement.
This fabric is ideal for cooler month weddings over fabrics as it is thicker and able to provide more warmth. Polyester spandex is ideal for fitted style dresses to accentuate your curves whilst having the ultimate comfort factor.

6. POLY SATIN
The poly satin fabric firmer and mid weight fabric that has beautiful gloss look that has the ability to hold it's shape and suitable for gowns that require more of a structured look.

7. DUCHESS SATIN
Our duchess satin is a firm but soft to the touch fabric with a wonderful body and medium weight. It has a gorgeous smooth feel with a sheen look.
This elegant and luxurious fabric is ideal for gowns that require a more structured silhouette and available in an array of bold colours.
